WEBSITE TERMS OF USE

Last update: 22/08/26

1. About these terms

These terms of use (“Terms”) apply to anyone who visits or uses the Totnes Business Forum website (the “Site”), operated by Totnes Business Forum CIC (“TBF”, “we”, “our”, “us”). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to them, please do not use the Site.

These Terms cover how you may use the Site. They do not cover how we handle personal data — that is set out in TBF's Privacy Policy, which also covers the cookies used on the Site.

2. Who we are

Totnes Business Forum CIC is a community interest company registered in England and Wales (company number 17405525), with its registered office at 2B Burke Road, Totnes, Devon, TQ9 5XL.

3. Using the Site

The Site is provided to give information about TBF, its Members, and its activities, and to let you get in touch, sign up to our newsletter, ask about or apply for Forum membership, and find out about TBF's collective projects, news and events.

You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes, and not to:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site or any system connected to it.

  • Introduce viruses, malware, or other harmful material to the Site.

  • Use the Site in any way that could damage, disable, or impair it, or interfere with anyone else's use of it.

  • Copy, scrape, or reproduce content from the Site beyond what's needed for your own personal, non-commercial reference, without our permission.

4. Information you submit to us

If you submit information through the Site — for example, through a survey, a membership application, or a sign-up form — you're responsible for making sure it's accurate and that you have the right to share it. How we use that information is set out in TBF's Privacy Policy.

5. Applying for Forum membership through the Site

If you apply for Forum membership through the Site, or ask us for more information about membership, that process — and your membership, if you're approved — is governed by TBF's Membership and Participation Policy, not these Terms.

6. Payments

Where you set up a Direct Debit mandate to pay membership dues, this is collected through GoCardless and governed by GoCardless's own terms, as well as TBF's Privacy Policy and Membership and Participation Policy. TBF is not responsible for the operation of GoCardless's own platform.

7. Content about Members and businesses

The Site may include information about, or submitted by, TBF's Members. This information is provided by Members themselves or compiled in good faith, but TBF cannot guarantee it is always accurate, complete, or up to date, and is not responsible for the products, services, or conduct of any business listed.

8. Links to other websites

The Site may contain links to websites we do not operate — for example, Member businesses' own websites, or partner organisations. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or availability of any website we do not operate, and a link does not mean we endorse it.

9. Intellectual property

Unless stated otherwise, the text, images, and branding on the Site belong to TBF or are used with permission. You may view and print pages from the Site for your own personal, non-commercial use, but may not otherwise copy, reproduce, or distribute content from the Site without our permission.

10. Availability and changes

We try to keep the Site available and up to date, but we do not guarantee it will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free. We may change, suspend, or remove content or features on the Site at any time, without notice.

11. Liability

The Site and its content are provided “as is.” So far as the law allows, TBF is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the Site, or your reliance on any information on it. Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for anything that cannot be excluded under English law, such as liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time, for example as the Site or TBF's activities develop. The current version will always be available on the Site.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales.

14. Contact us
